I always get the inspiration for my sermons here and great help for my childrens time as well. Please know that my group love to hear God's word simlified and enjoy the excitement that is needed to inspire children. from the thoughts here(and the Scripture) the Holy Spirit infuses my thoughts and encourges our congregation. A simple Thank you and God Bless you(and the Children you work with).Jason Collierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12597999313223578345noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4995851195771634116.post-58245718141798431592012-07-01T07:47:52.119-04:002012-07-01T07:47:52.119-04:00Allison, this is too late also, but... Unfortunately, power and DSL have been come and go - mostly go - this weekend. So, I am just finding your comment. I share your discomfort with Independence Day and worship. A discussion of the topic in my lectionary group indicated that most of them were going to do as little as possible probably selecting one vaguely national hymn and mentioning it in the church's prayers. I would suggest not doing anything specifically holiday-oriented with the children with the hope of raising a new generation who will have a healthy separation of faith and patriotism.Worshiping with Childrenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12023055938126631743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4995851195771634116.post-80245225679170236192012-06-30T20:35:38.629-04:002012-06-30T20:35:38.629-04:00This quote was an important hinge in my sermon on ...This quote was an important hinge in my sermon on Mark 5:21-43: "Interruptions can be viewed as sources of irritation or opportunities for service, as moments lost or experience gained, as time wasted or horizons widened. They can annoy us or enrich us, get under our skin or give us a shot in the arm, monopolize our minutes or spice our schedules, depending on our attitude toward them." --William Arthur Ward (http://thinkexist.com/quotes/with/keyword/interruptions/)Allison in PA :0)noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4995851195771634116.post-76270415744030949952012-06-30T16:11:02.461-04:002012-06-30T16:11:02.461-04:00Speak to us of Independence Day. One p version is listed first and therefore preferred. I know this because my first draft of Forbid Them Not went to the publisher with 2 ps throughout. The editor made me fix every instance of the word in the manuscript. So, now I am fully set in 1 p spelling. But, I also suspect that British and American usage may differ. Language can be weird! - interestingly weird.Worshiping with Childrenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12023055938126631743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4995851195771634116.post-29495890225264300552012-06-30T01:00:42.871-04:002012-06-30T01:00:42.871-04:00Worshipping is spelt wrong.Worshipping is spelt wrong.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
