Or "No, I will not hit.... though I really want to." Or even, just to complicate things a little, "Yes, I will play a game with my little brother even though I really want to play my own video game."Worshiping with Childrenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12023055938126631743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4995851195771634116.post-76977573163765762402012-02-29T15:21:12.982-05:002012-02-29T15:21:12.982-05:00The NIrV (New International Reader's Version) ...The NIrV (New International Reader's Version) says it like this: (v 34) "If anyone wants to come after me, he must say no to himself."

I think kids can understand the concept of "saying no" to themselves for the good of someone else, even if they don't like it very much! (Touched on this in a sermon 1 Cor 8.)

Last week, we talked about Jesus being tempted in the wilderness to do bad things. This week we may revisit that story and talk about how though Jesus might have REALLY wanted to turn those stones into bread because he was hungry, he didn't do it because God didn't want him to. He "said no to himself" in order to obey God.

I'll have to come up with an example or two that would make sense to them. But I think it will work!Allison in Pennsylvania :0)noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4995851195771634116.post-25044602984154710662012-02-22T06:11:47.771-05:002012-02-22T06:11:47.771-05:00I believe We drink it to remember that God loved u...I believe We drink it to remember that God loved us enough to get beat up and killed on a cross for us.
Coloring PagesColoring Pageshttp://www.morecoloringpages.com/noreply@blogger.com
